Yotsunoha (2008)

“Yotsunoha” is a story about the shared adventures of Nono Nekomiya, Makoto Yuki, Iori Yuzuki and Matsuri Amachi.

They once spent a lot of time together as close friends at their former school, but when their school was closed, the four friends were separated and sent to different schools. Before they split up, they hid a time capsule under a tree on the school grounds and made a promise together: one day, they would open the capsule together.

Three years later, they want to put the promise into practice on the grounds of the now long-abandoned Mochitsuki Academy. There, they discover that one of their old teachers has removed the time capsule’s content and sent them a note inviting them to a scavenger hunt. As they follow the clues, old memories and feelings come flooding back …

Einst verbrachten sie als enge Freunde auf ihrer damaligen Schule viel Zeit miteinander, doch als ihre Schule geschlossen wurde, wurden die vier Freunde getrennt und alle auf unterschiedliche Schulen geschickt. Bevor sie sich trennten, versteckten sie noch eine Zeitkapsel unter einem Baum auf dem Schulgelände und machten ein gemeinsames Versprechen: Eines Tages öffnen sie die Kapsel gemeinsam.

Als sie das Versprechen drei Jahre später am Gelände der inzwischen lange verlassenen Mochitsuki Academy in die Tat umsetzen wollen, entdecken sie, dass einer ihrer alten Lehrer den Inhalt der Zeitkapsel entfernt hat und sie mit einem Zettel zu einer Schnitzeljagd auffordert. Während sie den Hinweisen nachgehen, kommen alte Erinnerungen und Gefühle wieder hoch …
