The Moon on a Rainy Night (2021)

High school student Saki is on her way to her piano lesson on the last day of the holidays when she accidentally collides with a girl of the same age. The other girl wordlessly helps her to pick up the fallen notes and then disappears.

The next day, Saki meets the girl again, in her class right at the seat of her table neighbour! The teacher introduces the girl: her name is Kanon, and she is deaf. Saki is supposed to take care of her as a seat neighbour, which Kanon totally refuses because she doesn’t want to be treated in any special way!

However, little by little, Saki and Kanon get closer and become friends. Until, at some point, Saki has to ask herself: is this still friendship, or perhaps more …?

Die Oberschülerin Saki ist am letzten Ferientag gerade unterwegs zu ihrer Klavierstunde, als sie versehentlich mit einem gleichaltrigen Mädchen zusammenstößt. Das andere Mädchen hilft ihr wortlos, die heruntergefallenen Noten wieder aufzuheben und verschwindet dann.

Am nächsten Tag trifft Saki das Mädchen wieder, und zwar in ihrer Klasse direkt am Nachbarsplatz! Die Lehrerin stellt das Mädchen vor: Sie heißt Kanon, und sie ist taub. Saki soll sich als Sitznachbarin etwas um sie kümmern, was Kanon total ablehnt, denn sie will nicht speziell behandelt werden!

Doch Stück für Stück kommen sich Saki und Kanon näher und werden Freundinnen. Bis sich Saki irgendwann fragen muss: Ist das noch Freundschaft, oder vielleicht mehr …?
